Gardening Time

 Gardening time is starting up in my little area of the world.  And because of that, Project 52 is going to have to slow up.  I'm so far behind on my projects anyway, ack!  So for the next week or so I will be working on UFOs of my UFOs.  LOL

I have a couple of quilts to get pin basted and quilted.  I have a couple of quilts needing backings.  And a couple of quilts needing bindings.  They need to get to the finish line.  So that's my goal this week, get some of those Project 52 projects done!

In addition, flower beds need weeding and mulching.  Spring is here!

Nine Patch

The Nine Patch is further along.  Yesterday I pulled out my bin of Homespun fabrics and cut some 12.5 inch solid blocks.  Then, using the design floor, I figure out how to set the nine patch blocks with the solid blocks.  It's all ready to sew!  YEA!

I showed this one to you a couple of posts ago, but didn't really give much information about it.  I found the center panel a couple of years ago and used the pattern "Sidelights".  You can find the pattern here. 

I also have located some backing fabric in my stash and hope to get it pin basted soon.

Week 28 Of Project 52

 Week 28 of Project 52 will be some nine patch blocks I have made out of leftovers of Homespun fabrics.  I started making these nine patches with the leftovers when I was making rag quilts.  Plus I found some rag quilt blocks that were made and ready to be sewn together.  

In the box there are also some 12.5 inch solid squares as I was thinking of alternating a solid with a nine patch block.  So that's this week's Project 52.

A Little Update

A little update on Project 52, there is progress being made!  But I feel like I may have done a little backslide.  

Last weekend I went on a bus trip that was part of the Nebraska/Kansas Shop Hop.  I picked up a few things for current projects.  For example: I found some gray fabric to use as background for my Bee Quilt, Week 24 of Project 52.  I did get all the background pieces cut out this past Wednesday, a step forward.

I did however, pick up fabric for pillowcases, boxy pouches, and mug rugs.  (This is the backslide part.)

I also finished quilting one of the Gnome "Through The Looking Glass" quilts.  Binding up next and another step forward for Project 52.

I completed the making of this top which isn't on the project list.  But it's still nice to have it completed.

And I did finish putting together "Film At Five".  I tried something different this time, instead of the usual colors (white, gray or black) for the background, I used orange.  I really like how it looks!

I did write down all the new projects so I can keep track of them.  I have cut out the pillowcases and I want to get the boxy pouches cut out next.  Mug rugs will be last.

Week 27 Of Project 52

 Here it is, Week 27 of Project 52.  This week I'm going to make the last "Twist Bag" that is on the list.

I also need to finish up the last of the previous "Twist Bag".  All it needs is to have the handles sewn on and the lining sewn.  Easy peasy, but I ran out of time before it was finished.  And I haven't squeezed it in while working on my other projects.  This week it will get done!

I did get both of "Through The Looking Glass" quilts pin basted and I plan to work on the quilting this week along with the bags.  And all the blocks for "Film At Five" are completed and sewn into rows.  I'm continuing to move forward, slow and steady.

Week 26 Of Project 52

It's Week 26 of Project 52, half way through the list!  And this week's project will be a sewing machine cover.  I have this fabric panel that a friend gave to me.

And using this pattern from the Sew Delicious blog is what I have in mind.  We'll see how it ends up!   I also have no clue how long this will take me.  I'm also not sure how many of the panels I will use, I'm thinking just two.  But trying to decide on which two may be the hardest part.  LOL

Another Update

 I have another update on Project 52!  I have two tops now!  First, I completed "Lil' Diamond Sky".

I completed that one yesterday.  I worked all day Wednesday and most of Thursday on it.  Now to decide on a backing.

Next, I completed "Hello Garden".  Working on it the rest of Thursday and this morning. 

It too needs a backing.  We'll see what I can find!  This afternoon I've been working on "Film at Five".  It has more little pieces so not sure how long it's going to take.
