Rag Quilt

I made a little rag quilt for our dog Alina.  She is getting so old and has never liked sleeping in a dog bed or on a pillow.  She has just slept on the rug next to the bed.

I started clipping last night while watching a movie.  Hope to finish the clipping today.  I had some of the blocks already sewn with an X.  But the ones around the outer edge I did yesterday.  I still have a ton of denim squares from old jeans.  I'm thinking I need to make a few more.

I've been using my Featherweight machine as my Bernina is in the shop.  This little machine is such a work horse.  It went through 8 layers of fabric, 4 layers denim and 4 layers flannel, with out a change in sound.  Just love how it sews.

I did get a call that my Bernina is all better now and that I can go pick her up.  I'll do that on Monday, after work.

The Best Laid Plans

The best laid plans can sometimes go awry.  I was working on a project when my machine jammed with thread in the thread take-up lever.  I couldn't get it out.  So it's heading off to be fixed along with a cleaning and oiling.  Good thing I have another machine.  I got out my little Featherweight.

I was able to finish my homework for my sampler class tomorrow night.  Yeah!!  Plus this is the machine I use for classes and retreats so will need to pack it up again now that I'm done with it.

Getting Close

I have a table runner that is getting close to being done!  I need to sandwich, quilt it and bind and it will be done!

I won the charm pack, "Winterlude" by 3 Sisters for Moda fabrics at Quack Therapy.  (Our local quilt shop Cut Up & Quilt has a monthly gathering to show us all the newest items added to the shop called Quack Therapy.)   This fabric is so pretty.  It's not on the the UFO list, just something I wanted to get finished

My Big Project

My big project that I have been working on is a graduation quilt for my niece.  She loved it!  I always wonder if they will like it or not.  She is planning on taking it with her when she goes to college.  A good sign she likes it.

It was packed in this Thirty-One bag.  She was excited about it too, as she wants to be a teacher.  She called it a "Teacher Bag" as all the teachers she worked with this last semester had them.  (She worked as a para educator for school credit.)  So it was a win-win!

Where Is She????

I know, you're wondering 'Where is she?".  I've been here, just not blogging as I should.  I have completed this table runner.

The pattern is "Country Charm Table Runner" made with a charm pack.  The pattern is from "The Pattern Basket".  The charm pack was "L'Amour" by Sandy Gervais for Moda.  Love the colors in this charm pack.

There is one fabric not from the line right in the middle of the runner, that charm square was part of our Guild's challenge for February.  So I accomplished two things with one project, used that charm and finished a UFO that was one my list.
