April 2021 Dirty Dozen

April 2021 Dirty Dozen is complete!  I have made the two pillowcases from the 2018 Shop Hop Fabric!

These will be fun to use once I get the cotton sheets out.  It's been so cold, we still have flannel sheets!

December 2020 Dirty Dozen

December 2020 Dirty Dozen project is TOTALLY done!  I had to figure out how to hang it on my quilt rack in the kitchen.

What I ended up doing is using a loop and covered buttons to accomplish my mission.

I had bought the buttons to be covered on clearance and made the loop out of the fabric that I used for the binding.  I'm so happy with the way this worked out!

April Blocks

April Blocks for Nebula are completed!  Woohoo!  I'm really looking forward to May's blocks.

It's really weird, both of these pictures were taken at the same location, with the same phone and the only difference was the time of day.  The top picture was taken when there was afternoon light and the bottom picture was taken in the evening with only the overhead light.  I'm going to have to find a way to get the fabrics to show up as they really look.

Excitement!

I had some excitement when yesterday's mail came.  My second installment of fabric for Nebula.

You may know about a BOM being lead by Julie of Jaybird Quilts, called Nebula.  It has been so fun!  And I'm working with Tula Pink fabrics!  I love the fabrics but since I have so much stash I have been trying to use up what I have before buying more.  Since I only get enough for my blocks, I thought this was a perfect way to go.  Plus I have been doing this with a friend and we send pictures back and forth to each other.  It encourages us and keeps up going.

A few of the blocks:

What excitement have you had come your way?

Bumps In The Road

Do you ever experience bumps in the road with your quilting?  I told you about the one I had with my miscut gnomes.  That one has been "smoothed" out and the top is completed.  Not exactly the same design as the pattern, but pretty close.

So I was working on new project when I encountered another bump in the road.  I was doing some applique that you use the double stick interfacing type product, when I had this happen:

Look at the right hand side.  The adhesive melted through to the front.  Ugh!  Plus, my iron died right after that.  So, I'm thinking the iron overheating caused this mess to my little camper.  Back to square one.  Only this time I will use pins and not the double stick.

Hoping I can finish this project soon with out any more bumps.
