Project 52 Progress

Project 52 progress is slow with these bigger projects.  Plus I seem to be putting some other old projects in with the mix.  I'm OK with that as they all need to be completed.  My most recent finish is "Lillian".

I started this in 2015 and finished hand stitching the binding this past weekend.  WooHoo!  This is a Villa Rosa pattern and I used either a jelly roll or a couple of charm packs (I can't remember which) of Kate Spain's "Solstice" fabric line.  I'm so happy to have this done!

Yesterday I spent most of the day working on the blocks for 'Lil' Diamond Sky".  I have about half of them completed.  Progress, slow and steady

Week 25 Of Project 52

Week 25 of Project 52 has arrived and I've chosen a project from the list, "Lil' Sky Diamonds" by Running Doe Quilts.

This is a picture of the regular size quilt, the pattern I had was for a mini quilt.  I've been looking for the mini pattern online, but I'm not finding it at Running Doe Quilts website.  I did see it for sale through other quilt shops etc.   Sorry I can't give a link at this time.  I'll keep searching.

Tomorrow I'll update you on all the other quilts from the past few weeks, I'm feeling really behind as these larger quilts take me a while.

Week 24 Of Project 52

Week 24 of Project 52 will be the quilt I want to make using my Bee fabric.  I have fabric from Deb Strain.  I have some yardage, a layer cake and a charm pack.  I have patterns I have added to the box as I couldn't decide which pattern to use.  So this week my goal is to get a pattern picked and a quilt cut out.

A Few Extras

A few extras have ended up in the mix.  I made two more Boxy Quilted Pouches.

Another extra I completed is the quilting on a quilt called, 'Lillian" by Villa Rosa Designs, finally! I've been working on that since 2016.  I had to laugh as I said it would be ready by Christmas 2016.  Another post in 2018 has me still working on quilting it.  And this project isn't even a part of Project 52. You can see the quilt I made here.  If you are interested in the pattern, you can purchase it here.

So far I have been able to get all of the background cut out for "Film at Five" which is Project 23.  I still want to sew on "Hello Garden" (Project 22) and complete those blocks before I start "Film at Five".  These bigger projects are going to take me a while.

Week 23 Of Project 52

Week 23 of Project 52 is a UFO called "Film at Five" by Deanna at Wedding Dress Blue blog. If you are interested in the pattern, you can find it here: "Film at Five".

I have all the 25 patch blocks done as I did them as leaders/enders.  So last week I went in search of background fabric.  I had some success and I have been cutting out the background.  It's all bagged up and ready for sewing this week.  It's all about the progress.

Here I Am

Here I am, trying to cram another project into the mix.  LOL  This is really why I end up with so many UFOs.  I was looking for fabric to make a pillowcase when I came across this Easter egg fabric.  It had been a full yard but I had cut a chunk out of it way back when for an appliqued sweatshirt.  (The salvage was dated 1999.)  I decided it was time for it to become something and not lay around in the stash anymore.

More Quilted Boxy Pouches!

I also found a half yard of purple flowers to use as the lining.

These are going together fast!

Week 22 progress has been made!  A total of 28 blocks have been made so far!

The lighting was off on this picture or maybe it is my eyes, but the pinkish ones are actually a beige.

Week 21 Projects

Week 21 projects are tops.  I didn't realize when I added it to the list that it included enough fabric to make two tops.  I have both done and have a backing for them.  Next step it to get them pin basted!

I did happen to mix the rows up when putting it together, but that's OK, now they look a little different from each other.

Week 22 Of Project 52

Week 22 of Project 52 is a kit I put together called "Hello Garden".

The pattern is a plus pattern that was from Fons and Porter's Easy Quilts, Fall 2012.  The fabric is a Pixie Strips roll from RJR fabrics called "Turquoise Ink Blossom" and I'm going to use black as the background.

I figure I will at least get the quilt blocks cut out and bagged up.  In addition, I hope to get some of  the blocks made.  Fingers crossed!

Week 13 Of Project 52

Week 13 of Project 52 has crossed the finish line!  The backing on this quilt was donated to me by a friend and the quilt will be donated to Wings Of Hope Cancer Support.  You can click here to learn more about this Organization.

We had a beautiful day yesterday, I had to be outside to get a picture of this quilt!

This pattern was in the June/July 2011 copy of "Quick Quilts"  and it's called "Sadie's Stash".  For this quilt I used my stash of 3.5 inch strips and squares.  And it just about empty out the drawer of strips!

Progress On Project 52

I made more progress on Project 52 items.  Week 13, "Sadie's Stash" is now quilted and I'm working on the binding.  A picture will be coming soon.

Week 20 Project 52 is a top!  I also found backing and batting for it.  I hope to get it pin basted soon and ready to quilt.

I added a picture of my husband and myself plus a "label" to the front vs the back in order to get the number of blocks I needed.  I really am excited to get this one to this point.
