All The Rows

All the rows are together!  I always love seeing the finished top.

And try as I will, I still have like fabrics by like fabrics.  I'm just accepting that is the nature of scrappy quilts!

Rows!

I'm getting some rows together for my Lozenges quilt!  Check it out.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the rows together.

Pinning

This past weekend we went to visit the grandchildren and I spent time pinning on the drive.  I had all my  Lozenges blocks in groups of 4, ready to pin.  I worked on that in the car on the way.  Two rows are sewn and ready to be pressed.  All the other rows are pinned.

I have my last "Bubbles" class tonight.  I have about half of those sewn and ready to play with and arrange into a fun setting.

Blocks and Rows

Blocks of curvy log cabins and rows of Lozenges have been happening.  I have about half of my log cabin blocks done.

And the Lozenges blocks are making it into rows.  They are now either groups of 4 or pinned and ready to become groups of 4.

You'll find me at my machine for a while, sewing, sewing, sewing.  I'm using the Lozenges as true Leaders and Enders for my curvy log cabin blocks.

(If you click the link it sends you to Bonnie Hunter's blog to her book Leaders and Enders, it explains what a Leader and Ender is.  It's a way to work on 2 quilts at once!)

Satisfied

I'm feeling pretty satisfied with all the cutting I have accomplished.  I have 3 quilts cut and ready for summer sewing.  All are scrap quilts and no new fabric was purchased and I still have lots of stash.  All is well.  Hahaha

I have been doing some sewing on my curvy log cabin blocks and last night I pinned a few Lozenge blocks together.  I sewing them now as the true Leader and Ender project they were to be while sewing my curvy log cabin blocks.  I spent last summer sewing all the corners on the centers of the Lozenge blocks.  That was time consuming.

Sitting by the machine, ready to be sewn.
A couple of them sewn.

I think I'm really going to like this quilt!

Sunday Strings and More

So 2 more Sunday String blocks were completed.

Plus more progress on Lozenge blocks.

I've been spending time taking care of produce.  We canned 4 quarts of tomatoes, the first of the season.  Last year I discovered that you can freeze potatoes.  It seemed like our potatoes were early this year, which works out for me.  Potatoes are all in the freezer ready for use this winter.

Still Working

I'm still working on Lozenges.  The white ones are all done and I am working on a batch of black corners.

I'm ready to chain piece.

Progress!

I'm making progress on the Lozenges quilt.  I have a few more of the white corners to finish and on to the black corners.

Even with all the scrap quilts I've made, I still have lots of scraps left.  It's amazing how they seem to grow as I use them.

Two Inch Squares

I was busy marking and cutting out more two inch squares for the Lozenges quilt.  The prep work is taking some time, I kind of understand why I dropped the project from the list.  I just wasn't finding the time to do the prep work nor was it an easy project for me to do as a Leader/Ender.  But I will get it done!!

Bonnie Hunter's New Leader/Ender Project

If you follow Bonnie Hunter, you are aware that she has the 2017 Leader/ Ender project announced.  I have been working on a rail fence quilt, see?

This pattern was in American Patchwork & Quilting magazine from August 2011.  I have about 2 or 3 more rows to go.  I was making this quilt more of a oversize twin quilt. But looking at this picture, I'm thinking I may be closer to done than I realize. I love quilts that I can wrap myself up in.

So....  I have a Leader/Ender from 2014 that I haven't finished, Lozenges!  So I'm going to work on that as a UFO.  I just wasn't comfortable doing it as a Leader/Ender.

So are you working on this challenge or do you have a project you are currently doing as a Leader/Ender?

Cutting

I have really been in the mood to cut fabric.  Not sure why, but I'm going with it.  (Could be those overflowing drawers of strips.)  Last year when Bonnie Hunter issued the Leader And Ender challenge, Lozenges I started cutting and something else came along and I put it in a shoe box bin and set it on the edge of my cutting table thinking I would get back to it.    So yesterday I did.  I started counting how many Lozenges I had cut and how many more do I need. So cutting more.  One of my fabrics is a golden oldie:

I also finished sewing my "B" blocks between cutting.  This is going to be fun to set out the rows and start sewing!

Switching gears altogether now, I changed thread and I'm working on my Red, White and True QAL.

Go over to Jean's blog and check out the twin size Red, White and True.  So cool!
