Last Block

I'm working on the last block for my sampler quilt.  And I tried something new with this.  Jean had us doing the "No Waste Flying Geese" block.  Oh so much fun!

You have one big square with two smaller squares pinned, draw a line down the middle and sew quarter inch on either side of the line. Cut in half.

Press open and draw another line down the center.  Sew quarter inch on each side of the line and cut.

You end up with the nicest Flying Geese blocks.  Thanks Jean for having us use this method.

Be sure to Google "No Waste Flying Geese blocks".  You will find detailed directions and charts on what size to cut your rectangles and squares.
