We went out of town this past weekend and I think we have a little furry animal that has moved in. Not sure how he got in (or when) but I found hints of his existence tonight when I opened the towel drawer in the mudroom and there was LOTS of dog kibble and mouse droppings in the drawer. (The towels are now in the washer and the kibble has been vacuumed up.) I'm thinking that I may be getting another cat or two very soon. The thing is, how can you be sure that the kitten you're getting is a mouser? If you have any tips, let me know.
On a brighter note, I finished another hexagon. See??

The only way I know of is to get a kitty from a mother that was/is a ferral cat. That is what Midas's mother was,which is why he was so skitish whin we got him.

I think most cats will go after them, even if they don't eat them. I rely on traps myself since my cat will play with them to death....but she can't always get at them. NO signs of them yet....
Hmm, I don't know how you pick out a good mouser. I know all our cats have had out door experience before we got them, and have been indoor/outdoor cats while with us. They have all been "mousers" (and in the case of Thimble...any little furry critter...). Do you need to borrow Thimble the "Mouse Buster" ("who 'ya gonna call...)to find your new uninvited house guest?!! Her fee? You have to let her lick your Greek Yogurt container...
