November Block

Hello!

Hello!  I'm back from an unscheduled absence.  I had a busy time with Retreats and bus trips and train trips.

I started out in the middle of September with the first of my Retreats.  Then I had another Retreat the following weekend.  A bus trip the weekend after that and a train trip after the bus trip!  It's been go, go, go.  Lots of fun!

I got caught up on my blocks for the BOM that I'm doing with "A Quilting Life".

July BOM

 My July BOM is complete!

 However, when you compare my block to Sherri's block, they are not the same.  Check out Sherri's block with the directions here.  My geese are going wild!   Sherri's travel in a nice circle.  I'm not going to redo it, I just will have wild geese.  LOL

June BOM

  June BOM from "A Quilting Life" is complete!

It's so nice to have this block done.  I've also been working on the Moda Blockheads 5 blocks.  I have more done, but I have decided I really don't like doing paper foundation piecing and there is a number of them.  So I have to decide what block I'm going to do in place of those blocks.  Sometimes another designer of the blocks does something different, so I'll check that out.  But slow and steady, right?

May BOM Is Done

 May BOM is done!  With "lots" of time to spare.  LOL

This is the first block that I added some of the blue fabric.  I think I will add blue to a couple more as I go along.  This block can be found here at "A Quilting Life".

April BOM Done

 April BOM is done.  This one is by Sherri from "A Quilting Life" blog.

 

I've been trying to use my leftover fabric from Julie Larsen's fabric line "Prairie Homefront".  This fabric line came out some time ago.  I did mention it in my blog back in 2010, so sometime before that?

I'm working on May's block so hope to have it completed soon!

February Block is Done!

 February Block is done!  Woohoo!

It's nice to have this block completed. This picture makes the brick red fabric look brown. I did change it up as I wanted it to look more basket like.  Here is the original block at "A Quilting Life".   Are you sewing along?

I Started A New BOM

I started a new BOM from "A Quilting Life".  This is the January block.  I'm using my leftover fabrics from Julie Larsen's  "Prairie Homefront" for Paintbrush Studio.  I may have to add to it with other Civil War Reproduction fabrics in my stash if I don't have enough big pieces.  We'll see.

 

 If you are interested in doing this BOM, here is the link for fabric requirements.  And here is a link to the January block.   This block is 16 inches big so you'll have a nice size quilt when done.  Or you could use each block as a table topper or small wall hanging.
