The Scrappy Goodness Continues

Oh my, the scrappy goodness continues.  Step 4 has been completed!

This quilt is going together fast.  Step 5 is also completed.  Check out Step 5 here.

This step was a repeat of Step 3.  I love that I have used up so many of my scraps.  I even have cut more 2.5 inch squares so I will have a good mix of colors and prints.

You could still jump in and make this one yourself.  Come on, you know you want to.

Scrappy Goodness

I love the scrappy goodness of quilts made with your leftovers.  And even more fun, I found a Scrappy Mystery Quilt-A- Long.  Step one is here at Days Filled With Joy blog.

I am behind, but that's OK, I will try and get myself somewhat caught up.  As of right now, Step one is done!  And Step Two is ready to be sewn.  Woohoo!

More

More masks have made it to the finish line for my friend.  Fifteen masks in all this time around.  Nice to have this batch completed.

I bought a couple of new asiatic lilies for my garden last year.  They made it through the winter and are blooming.  Such pretty colors.

I also went to see a friend to pick up some flannel fabric from her.  While there her turkeys had a little thing going on.  And our car seems to be involved. LOL

The female is sitting on top of my car and the male is trying to  get her to come and see him.
Life in the country!  Never a dull moment.

Sewing Machine

I've been having a few problems with my Bernina sewing machine, mainly with the decorative stitches.  I really want to get my jelly roll rug completed but my machine won't do a nice zigzag stitch on that much fabric.  It works great on batting as I have pieced together some scraps for a table topper.  I had it into the shop twice last Fall to see if they could fix it.

An applique project for my Dirty Dozen won't get finished in time.  First I tried a blanket stitch but the machine wouldn't make it.  Just did a zigzag.  So I tried a tiny zigzag stitch and it isn't very consistent.  (I just stitched around the outside of the Dresden petals and the inside circle.)  I'm unhappy with the results especially when I know how nice of stitch this machine use to do.

It's very frustrating when your tools don't work the way you want.  So I've been trying to decide if I want to start looking for a new machine.

April "Dirty Dozen"

The April "Dirty Dozen" project is done!

This was a kit that my Sister-in-law had purchased and then decided she didn't want to do it, so she gave it to me.   The pattern is called "Tulip Tango" by Pieced Tree Designs.  The fabrics are 1930 Reproduction fabrics, but I don't know what line as the kit didn't have any pieces with the salvage that had the name.

The binding was tricky to do, as there are four turns that aren't 90 degree.  For those turns I used this video by Marci Baker.  It worked well and I had only one that I wasn't happy with.   But it's not going to the Fair and it's done and I can now use it!  Woohoo!
