Duuuh!

I was looking at all the 2.5 inch strips of Christmas fabric on my cutting table, trying to figure out how I would store them.  Should I put them all back in the bin they came out of?  Should I look for another bin/tub to put them in?  Then it hit me!  Duuuh!  Pack them into kits to be sewn together!

So I now have a total of 5 jelly roll racer kits to take with me to the Quilt Retreat.  I think I should have enough to keep me busy!  I could even check out some of the other kits I have.  I do have a wool kit I started to cut last Fall plus I've been cutting hexies.

I did finish cutting all of my paper templates out yesterday.  There were some great old movies on TMC that I have never seen.  Plus it was a rainy day, a perfect way to spend the afternoon. (I did some cleaning in the morning.)

I even have more dryer sheets ready to be made into string blocks.  Should I take those too?  You know, just in case I run out of things to do.....

Karen I have a question, how long is your retreat? I have been on weekend ones and I would take 3 or 4 projects and I would be lucky if I would get half of them done. That is why the question. I figure it must be longer than mine. In fact I have next weekend and I haven't decided what to take. Will you show what you get done?

Hi Kathleen! The Retreat starts Thursday evening and ends on Sunday at noon. I'm poking fun at myself as last year I took my King-size quilt thinking I'd get it done at Retreat. I didn't! I didn't get it done until February of 2011. I will do a show and tell of all that I get done.

You never get quite as much done as hoped at a retreat, but might as well take plenty along. YOu might get tired of working on one thing and want to start another. Maybe if you talk up your jelly roll race kits, you might encourage others to cut up strips and you could trade!

Kathleen, I just realized I didn't answer your question. I plan on working on a jelly roll racer Thursday night and one on Sunday morning. Friday I will work on my Halloween quilt and on Saturday I work on the quilt I started in 2007. I'm thinking I may need another project as the UFO shouldn't take too long to finish. So I'm going to cut out another quilt. I won't finish anything, just get some tops sewn.

Thank you for your answers and boy you are organized. My retreat is from Friday afternoon till Sunday. I do what Jean said, get bored and move to something else. I wish I could be so focus as you. And I will look forward to seeing your accomplishments. I'll put mine up too :-)
